Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In August I, along with Les Cargot, will be riding from John O’Groats to Land’s End and we are looking to raise £1000+ (£1/mile) for the Jon Egging Trust (JET).

Recently I have been involved in a number of ED&I activities which made me think more about the ‘privileges’ I enjoy, as a white, middle aged male. At my school there were certainly many less privileged and expectations were low for most, many left school with no  qualifications and went into low paid jobs. I think about all that potential missed and written off early. In JET I see an organisation which looks to inspire and enthuse young people, helping them  overcome adversity and become the best they can.

My crocheted snail Les Cargot was made by my daughter as I am somewhat heavier than my cycling buddies so usually the last up any incline, hence the nickname L’Escargot.
