Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2 years ago I completed my first Triathlon, it was my first experience of 'open water' swimming and I nearly drowned!! If you had asked me after the swim if I would ever do another Triathlon I would have laughed!! For some reason though I was hooked and this September I will be aiming to complete the Wales Ironman.
I have decided to raise money for 'Spinal Injuries Association', a UK charity dedicated to supporting all spinal cord injured people and their families.
Every year in the UK over 1000 people experience a spinal cord injury. There are an estimated 40,000 spinal cord injured people in the UK alone.
Most spinal cord injuries result in paralysis and the impact of an injury can turn lives upside down. Spinal cord injured people and their families are faced with the challenge of coming to terms with their injury, and rebuilding their lives with a disability. But with the right support and information, people can still enjoy a full and independent life after injury.
