Booth Centre is proud to work with UK citizens, refugees, migrants and anyone in need of support to address the impacts of homelessness, poverty and the immigration system. We have a wealth of experience and knowledge of person-centred, trauma-informed working for 30 years.

Story

I've been a volunteer at the Booth Centre since July last year. Many people rely on the centre from young to old and even though they are desperate for help it is one of the warmest and friendliest places you could visit. Volunteering could mean working in the kitchen one day, playing bingo the next or simply having a brew and a chat and lending an ear. It's an inclusive environment and everybody here from the staff to the attendees greatly appreciate any help given. I love joining in the activities and always come away feeling happy and optimistic. It's easier than you would imagine to become homeless, it can happen to anyone and the people I've met are from all walks of life. Most of us a fortunate enough not to be in that position but it would be great if we could help, however little it might seem.

The Booth Centre is a community centre run with and for people affected by homelessness. The Booth Centre provides a warm welcome, an opportunity to belong, to gain a purpose and rebuild lives. Our programme includes activities such as volunteering, creative projects and sports, as well as training and help to gain employment. We also support people to improve health and wellbeing, to access emergency accommodation, and to secure and maintain a permanent home.
