Story
IN THE PINK, “LITERALLY”
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Several months ago I was asked by a “friend” (not so sure that title is appropriate now but hey), if I would help a local lady “Sue”, to raise funds to support the Grimsby Breast Cancer Unit, The Pink Rose Suite at Grimsby Hospital and Lynsey Lodge Hospice, both like many organisations these days rely on charitable donations.
Sue has been raising money for these charities for the last six years by having an annual fashion show at Winterton Rangers venue, near Scunthorpe, with raffles and entertainment.
She has decided that this year is her last year and has raised over the previous year’s £12,000.00.
Her objective is to reach the magical figure of £15,000.00. In order to hopefully support her to achieve this goal, on the evening of the 25 October myself and five “volunteers” have been rehearsing to be the finale of her show, which usually has an audience of 300, mainly women.
We will be re-enacting the stripping scene of that classic film, “THE FULL MONTY”, with a twist. To help ease my embarrassment and stage fright I would appreciate if you would dig deep into your pockets to support this excellent cause.
I have been fully supported by Christa Horrell (Graham’s wife) who has choreographed the routine for the six novice male dancers, who will perform in aid of charity for “ONE NIGHT ONLY” to the TOM Jones Classic of “You can take your hat off”.
For those of you who may wish for proof, Graham Horrell will be in attendance at the evening’s event.
If you wish for tickets (on sale at £8 each) for the evening please contact me and I will see how many I can get.
For those locally based I have a sponsor form on my desk if you wish to sponsor me for those remote, please use this site.
Thank you for your support
Mark
