Story
On Saturday 4th September, I will be taking on the London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride (Europe’s biggest charity mountain bike event), raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
I think we all know someone who has suffered from a heart problem of some kind and some of those people are sadly no longer with us. This is the case in my family. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but, sadly, everyday hundreds of people still lose their lives.
The BHF have faced huge challenges as a result of the pandemic, meaning they had to cut their research budget in half in 2020. As such, I’m hoping that you will be able to support me in my endeavour to raise as much money as possible for the charity to help them continue their vital work.
The bike ride in question spans a route of 97km and contains approximately 1,500m of climbing with most of the ride being off-road. Despite becoming somewhat of a lockdown cycling enthusiast, preparation has involved around 750km of gruelling cycling per month across Zwift and the great outdoors! I'll be riding with my brother and friends from Team Valhalla as we swap our Zwift virtual wheels for real life mountain bikes!
I would be grateful for any donation you’re able to offer towards achieving my target.
