Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 8th May we'll be jumping 165ft off one of the engineering wonders of the world, the Forth Rail Bridge, to raise money for Down's Syndrome Scotland (DSS).  Down's Syndrome Scotland works to improve the quality of life for everyone in Scotland with Down's syndrome and their families.  Believe us that the challenge of having Emma enter our lives is nothing compared to jumping from this height, Mark gets giddy on the third rung of a ladder and Al's worried that the ropes might not hold her.

We discovered we were having a baby with Down's syndrome when Al was 22 weeks pregnant.  Along with the great support of family and friends we visited the offices of DSS who gave us a wealth of information and encouragement.  DSS organise regular family days throughout the country to enable us to have time together with other families with children like Emma.  It gives us confidence to know that the staff at DSS will be there whenever we'll need them throughout our journey with Emma.
