Story
Bright Sparks is a small school in the north of India for 105 slum kids whose parents are illiterate. It's been going for nearly 20 years. Bright Sparks School enables children to access the state education system by teaching them to read and write.
The children live in poor conditions in a Mohali slum. Often, they are working kids, looking after siblings or selling snacks to help their family make ends meet. Attending Bright Sparks School gives them a chance to have a childhood now, as well as a brighter future.
This year I'm trying to raise £1500 (bringing the total raised on this page to £4500) - a tenth of the annual running costs. Any amount you can give is welcome. In particular, if you feel able to make a regular donation of £12 per month plus gift aid, that covers the cost of educating one child for a year. Donating through JustGiving is simple and secure. You can choose to make a one-off donation or set up a regular payment. All your money will be spent (carefully) at Bright Sparks.
Thanks for any help you can give - it's truly appreciated.
