Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Last year we lost my brother tragically when he unexpectedly commited suicide.  Duncan had been suffering from mental health issues for a couple of years and had tried to tackle his inner turmoil by keep connected to our large and loving family, keeping active in the outdoors and giving his time to others. Duncan was a humble, funny and a gentle giant admired by many, but intensely private and we miss his kindness and sense of fun greatly.

Mental health affects many of us in our journey though life and our pride often prevents us from sharing these feelings - one in four is affected in Scotland, and SAMH is on hand to help to give pratical advice and be on hand to help.

Marion, John and my son Fionn (15) plan to take to the saddle for this challenge in September, as this is the way Duncan would have tackled his inner demons.
