Organised on behalf of the UK’s biggest independent provider of hospice beds, Marie Curie, a live music showcase will take place at the famed George Tavern on Thursday 2nd July 2015.
Headlining the event is reverb indie rock outfit Of Empires, MTV’s Brand New Unsigned Act for 2015. The main support will be electronic soul duo Equals, who powerfully counterpoint hypnotic electronic production with raw emotive vocals. Completing the lineup, at grassroots level are two movingly soulful solo singers, Ashà and Joseph Lawrence.
The show has been put together in order raise funds for the terminal care charity and inspire interest in unsigned acts in an intimate East London setting.
Nearly 2,000 Marie Curie nurses work night and day to provide the terminally ill care in the comfort of their own home. The specialist round-the-clock care and vital emotional support Marie Curie devote to the 400,000 terminally ill and their families in the UK would be impossible without local people giving out the goodness of their hearts.
Community fundraiser for the charity, Jane Richardson, has cited fundraising through live music as “a very effective way to raise funds, as it brings groups of people together in a common cause and provides a fun, social environment in which to raise funds."
Tickets go on sale Sunday 17th May 2015, £6 in advance and £7 on the door. All proceeds will be given Marie Curie.
