In 2013, I was sat with my mum when she was given the news none of us ever want to hear...she had ovarian cancer.

As you can imagine, we felt shocked, scared, worried, anxious...it seemed like the world was spinning out of control.  Thankfully, the staff at The Christie were there to help and support us.  Each and every member of the team, were (and are) amazing! 

After an operation, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, we were given the best news in the world...the cancer had gone, and my mum was in remission.

Still to this day, 10 years' later, The Christie are a huge support.  Recently my mum had some other concerns, and it was the staff at The Christie, out of all the medical professionals, who acted straight away, arranging scans and blood tests.  To our great relief, no cancer was detected.

So, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at The Christie.  I'm running my first ever half marathon for you!
