My husband, Cliff was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on 19th July 2013. It was such a shock to us both. We had just moved home, downsizing to a small bungalow to enjoy our retirement when this bombshell hit. We were both so very afraid of what was to be but with the help of The Hospice at Home team we managed through the worry and tears to find humour and joy for the time we had left. I know Cliff was grateful but unfortunately he is no longer here to say it so I speak for us both when I say without the Hospice at Home Team our last few months together would have been spent in a cold and impersonal hospital ward and not in our home surrounded by our family and possessions collected over 42 years.
