Having taken up running in the past two years, going from thinking I would never be able to move on from the first week of Couch 2 5k I’m now aiming for10k to celebrate my 10 years of working at the Charity! 

Running has helped me recover from chronic pain & illness. I have gone from thinking that my body could do nothing to it being able doing so much more. It has helped me through all the challenges that lockdown presented us & has helped my mental health & wellbeing immensely. 

I’m raising money for The Charity for Civil Servants to say thank you. Over the time I’ve been employed there, the Charity, my team & my colleagues have helped me through several life-changing situations from my divorce, illness, my father’s decreasing ill-health living with dementia & caring for my mother.  All of which would’ve been so much harder without the support, kindness & care I’ve received.

I  would hate to think that anyone else was going through the same thing without knowing the Charity’s help is here for them. And that is why I continue be here & continue to spread the word & raise awareness for our volunteers to help get the message out there to those who need it.
