Story
Whales and dolphins need our help. They are vital ecosystem engineers and are critical contributors to the health of our marine environment. Our oceans are in a worse state than ever due to human impact. Pollution, climate change, ship strikes, entanglements in fishing gear, hunting and captivity are all growing pressures that are taking their toll on these charismatic mammals.
Between now and 8th June, I am pledging to walk 1,000 miles; just a tiny fraction of some of the distances these great whales travel every year between their feeding and breeding grounds. I will walk 7 miles each day around the Rock of Gibraltar, starting on 17th January and ending on World Oceans Day - 8th June 2021. That's 143 days and 7 miles every day. I aim to raise £1,000 for Whale & Dolphin Conservation. A charity that is extremely close to my heart that carries out vital work to end captivity, stop whaling, create healthy seas and prevent deaths in nets. I also walk for Hope, a juvenile Minke whale whose recent plight and cruel, unnecessary death in the infamous Cove in Taiji, Japan, has touched the world. Hope's ordeal made headlines worldwide and inspired many to speak out against the barbaric and inhumane practices undertaken in The Cove. You can read about Hope’s story here:

Any donation, no matter how small would make a huge difference. From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the whales and dolphins of the world, THANK YOU!
