I am raising money for Lupus UK as this is a charity very close to my heart. I was made aware of Lupus when I was 15 when my mum was diagnosed with it. Tragically her condition wasn't diagnosed until it was too late and I lost my mum on 20th December 1991.

Lupus has further significance to my family as my cousin Hanna was diagnosed with it in June 2002. Hanna's Lupus is under control at the moment, but over the years she has had many flare ups which leave her very poorly. There is no cure for Lupus, but various drugs help to control the symptoms.

2015 is the year my beautiful mum would have turned 60 so to mark this milestone, Charlie & I are hoping to raise money through various fundraising events and this will finish in August when we climb Kilimanjaro. I know that mum would think we are mad, but also she would be proud that we are going to push ourselves to achieve a tough personal challenge. Life is for living and that is something I certainly never take forgranted since 20th Dec 1991!

Lupus UK is in need of funds to continue its research into this illness, so I know any donation, however big or small, will be gratefully received by them and by us.
