"Swim a mile" easy you say but what about in Lake Windermere and Salford Quays as part of the British Gas Great Swim series - Salford Quays is on the 15 May and Windermere 18/19 June - "are you mad" I hear you cry well yes probably but this is in memory of my mum who died from cancer on the 6 November 2009 after very short period of illness in fact only 1 month from diagnosis.

I dont run, so marathons were not my thing but anyone who knows me knows I could have been born with gills. So here I am in training to swim in memory of my mum and for macmillan who without their support  for all of the family would have meant the whole thing being so much harder than it was already.

The Palliative and end of life care mum had was amazing and the team at DRI were there for all of us. They are angels and nothing we can do would repay them enough. Doing this no matter how mad or brave will go some way to help others like our mum. This is for you too Uncle Fred X

So please dig deep and donate what you can to spur me on in my training till the big days. Thank you X
