I will be taking part in the Sefton Park Race for life in Memory of my Dad who had his own fight with Cancer.

My Dad suffered with a lot during his last few years due to several health conditions which had so many effects on him e.g. Diabetes: which caused him so many problems, he had all of his toes amputated, loss of sight, unable to read or write, strokes, heart attacks, hardening of his arteries, renal failure - which led to Dialysis. He underwent so many different operations for so many different health issues touch and go in some cases, then Cancer came along! Yet another devastating blow to him and us his family, after everything he had been through! But My Dad was a fighter and he got better. He underwent a massive life threatening operation in his neck linked with stroke causes which again he made it through, but while in recovery my Dad was told his Cancer had come back. Yet another blow to this poor man, but in true Dad form he still fought it, strong and brave.

Unfortunately we were told there was nothing more the Doctors could do for my Dad, he had over come every obstacle that he encountered and battled through, every illness, every operation, all the medications he fought on with a smile on his face but it was just to much.

I have heard those vile words being uttered - Its Cancer................. I know that devastating blow - hits you like a brick wall of ice and knives!  I don't want that for people, I want change, I want to hit Cancer like it hit my Dad, our Family and all those who have been effected.

I miss my Dad every second and I will for the rest of my life, but seeing how strong and brave he was makes me want to help others even more so. I LOVE YOU DAD........MY HERO 18/02/2015 x x x x
