Assalamu alaikum, peace be with you.

As you will know, our dearest sister Mariam departed this world on 23rd September at Fajr, and we pray that she has met her Lord as a soul at absolute peace.

By the grace of Allah, Mariam was an incredibly special person – her kindness and care for all whom she met touched the hearts of young and old, and indeed her concern for the needs of humanity globally remained with her to the very end of her time with us.

She left behind a legacy of wisdom, faith and compassion in our hearts and in the hearts of all those who knew her. We appreciate all your prayers and messages of love and would like to humbly ask that you support us in a project which will, in sha Allah, be blessed and be heavy on Mariam’s scale as a sadaqah jariya (ongoing charity), as well as on yours.

We hope to sponsor a Human Appeal Primary Healthcare Centre in Mashhad Ruhin, a refugee camp on the secure and safe Turkish-protected Syrian border. Those in the camp have been displaced from across Syria and have endured unimaginable difficulty – they have lost their homes and communities, and in many cases their family members, and often arrive in need of treatment for injury and illness. There are around 36,000 people within this refugee settlement, and they are in dire and desperate need of medical facilities and care; something that we, alhamdulillah, take for granted.

We are hoping to raise a total of £40,000 to construct a full Medical Centre, which will provide urgent life-saving and life-sustaining services to the settlement, furnish it in full, and operate it for a full month.

It is a huge amount, but alhamdulillah we know the deep generosity that lies within our community and trust in Allah that we can fund this incredible project, which will undoubtedly save many lives, and relieve many of our brothers and sisters from illness and difficulty.

We will name it "Mariam Medical Centre".
