Story
Most of you know that gender equality and inclusion is one of my North Stars. And that supporting gender inclusion worldwide is one of the causes I am most passionate about. For this reason, I have decided to donate my 41st birthday to the women's empowerment
fund at Mixteca. An organization that works very hard to support immigrant communities in Brooklyn and beyond.
Please read below to learn more about the work we do at Mixteca and consider making a donation to this fundraising page instead of giving me a birthday present this year.
The past couple of years have presented a unique number of challenges for women and girls worldwide. Immigrant communities in Brooklyn have not been the exception, and this is why I am choosing to donate my birthday to the Women's Empowerment Fund
at Mixteca.
Thank you!
Maria
In honor of Women's [Hers]tory Month, Mixteca invites you to join us in supporting:
- Amplifying the leadership potential of Brooklyn's immigrant
women - Providing a safe space for healing, building community, and
strengthening cultural identities - Creating innovative skills development opportunities for Latinx
and Indigenous immigrant women
Women are the backbone of the Mixteca community. As a women-led organization, we are committed to enriching, equipping, and empowering women in Brooklyn and beyond. We know that when women thrive, it lifts the whole community–that's why we invest in women's mental health, skills development, and wellness.
