What is Mixteca you ask?  Mixteca is a Brooklyn based organization that works to empower the Mexican and Latin-American immigrants of the New York area.  For 20 years they've focused their efforts to help primarily with health and social and economic development. 

Immigrant communities have been greatly affected by policies, discrimination and targeted attacks in the past few years.  Supporting organizations like Mixteca is essential to ensure that our communities remain diverse, healthy and enriched by the beauty of other cultures. 

Mixteca needs the money to support the following programs: 

- Financing DACA Renewals for those who can't afford them 

- Supporting newly arrived families, including children, who have undergone the trauma created by the family separation policy

- Financing education programs, in particular computer literacy (few laptops are needed)

I believe that climate and immigration will be the defining issues of our time.  Helping Mixteca is an opportunity to assist an organization working on the frontlines of the issues immigrants in our community face daily.
