Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 24/06/2017 the four of us will be taking ourselves to new heights (quite literally!) in aid of Alzheimers Society. Yordi, Emma and I will be placing ourselves 15,000ft above the UK and launching ourselves at speeds of 100mph down to ground. Our fundraising target isn't so much about jumping out of a plane- it is about so much more than that. 1 in 6 people over the age of 80 have dementia and a few years ago both my grandma and Emma's added to those statistics, and so are the 35.6 million others affected. The annual cost to the economy for a sufferer exceeds £30,000, with the research being lead into dementia massively under funded. Alzheimers Society touch the lives of over 30,000 people EVERY WEEK providing practical services and support for people with dementia and their careers, and with your help we can increase this number.
This is why the three of us have opted to make one small positive step in aid of not only our grandmas, but for all those who have been affected- as for all they have done for us, now is the time to do something for them. There may be little that can be done for our grandmas but with figures increasing to 1 million of those affected by dementia in the UK your generosity can help those affected in the future and even possibly reduce that number!
We ask you, whether it's simply £1.00, to donate what you can and aid us in this small positive step for the Alzheimers Society and all our loved ones affected with such a horrible disease.
