Story
Hello! Welcome to our page.
We have made this to raise money for a good cause, supported by the University of Brighton.
As students from the University we have decided to run a half marathon to raise money for a school that is currently being built in Nepal.
I (Maria) am currently studying Primary Teaching and came across this project, as Kevin Fossey, from the school of education is leading the effort to raise funds for construction of a new school in Malagiri for children age 3-8.
Dan also from the University of Brighton studying sport science, has kindly joined me in this effort, and is looking forward to running, probably five miles ahead of me!
At the present time, very few of the villagers can read or write so they do not get good prices for their crops and more worryingly are allowing their daughters to be ‘tricked’ into thinking that they will have a better life as maids or workers in India or the Gulf. Unfortunately many of them end up in the sex industry instead. The school is being built this school in order to provide not only an education but a meeting place for the whole community.
Please donate anything to help, Anything is better than nothing!
Thanks Maria and Dan.
