Story
Hi, thank you for taking a peek at my page! :)
I thought I best give you all a little information on the challenge I have decided to undertake to raise over £4000 for Macmillan cancer support.
The trek itself is ten days and nine nights starting at Cuzco in Peru to aclimatise to the high altitude. Then over the next few days, we will be steadily climbing higher, and working our way to Wayllabamba, where we will be making camp for night, at 2916m high.
Then we push hard and climb up to 4200m high, and this is where you definatly feel the altitude ! Going through the dead womans pass, (sounds encouraging doesn't it?!) we then reach our goal of Pacamayo, where we camp for the night.
The next two days are longer trecks with 8 to ten hours to endure, following the Inca trails, going up and down altitude and finally reaching Machu Picchu.
Now the reason thats inspired me to do all this. Well my nan has been currently fighting cancer for two long years now. Going in and out for chemotherapy, even though now finding out she has two different cancers instead of the initial one. She still works and fosters two boys and constantly helps others.
We have found the Macmillan cancer support to be excellent in the support and care they offer.
Now quite a few of you probably know my nan, and have even stayed at her house, and know how amazing she is. So I would love you to take a min, and think how much you can help, by just donating me some money, to help support those who make cancer patients and survivors life that little bit better!
Hey everyone just a update not a good one though im afraid my nan who ive previously mentioned sadly passed away on 15th march 2012 after her long battle with cancer :( im so proud of her and how she carried on and battled it till the very end means even more now to raise more money and carry on the charity work my nan thought so important xx
