*UPDATE* - Unfortunately Dan has developed something called plantar fasciitis, which is a fairly harmless but painful inflammation in the foot. It means he can't train for, or run, the marathon. Fortunately though, our lovely friend Rowly Kendall has stepped in and agreed to run the London Marathon on behalf of Dan, for the Ellenor Hospice.
Here's a reminder of why Rowly is running the 2021 London Marathon. It's to raise money for the Ellenor Hospice who cared for my mum, Cilla Armstrong, in 2018.
The work they do at the Ellenor is wonderful, allowing people like my lovely mum to die in a gentle and dignified way. The time I spent there with Mum will stay with me forever. The people who work at the Ellenor, from the doctors who deliver the worst possible news in the kindest possible way, to the nurses who check on their patients around the clock, and everybody else in between, provide comfort to families and patients during the saddest time of their life. But they need help to do so.
