I was very lucky to have won a place to run this year in the Vodafone Half Marathon, hosted in Bucharest, Romania on Sunday 4^th October.

After taking part in the Vodafone half in Amsterdam last year, I felt a strong urge to do it again and help raise money for two local Romanian charities.  React Association and Caritas Alba-Iulia Social and Medical Assistance Association provide telemedicine support and monitoring to serve rural communities in the areas of diabetes and cardiac care respectively.  

Both of these charities provide remote access to basic health care using technology to serve rural communities under the “Mobile for Good” program.  The benefits for the recipients are typically those who do not have close proximity to health care facilities, have mobility issues or those who cannot afford quality care.

Both charities have successfully piloted these services, have good governance and with intentions to reach a wider population.  Any donation, however small, would be hugely appreciated in helping support these two important charities.
