Story

Thanks for looking at my page. If I’ve not already bored you with the details, here goes...

I stupidly once said I’d run a marathon before I was 40. It seemed a long way off. Now it isn’t. So, at the age of 39 and 4 Months I’ll be running the big one, London Marathon. Despite being a regular runner, the last few years have been filled with injuries (and childbirths!) so it’s going to be a long hard road to the finish line.

When times get tough I’ll be thinking about the reasons I’m doing this. Last November my mum died quite suddenly, contracting pneumonia in hospital after suffering a fall. Unfortunately, after suffering with the painful and debilitating condition osteoporosis for 16yrs since it’s diagnosis, she fell over a lot. She broke a lot of bones. Over the years she often struggled to find medical support who understood the condition and could provide the treatment she needed. The National Osteoporosis Society is vital in raising this awareness, providing support and developing research to help the many other sufferers.
