Story
Dear friends,
Following the recent deaths of our grandmothers Maria and Neriman, both victims of dementia, we decided to take on a challenge together to celebrate their memory.
Given how dynamic and sea lovers they both were, we thought that running a 1/2 marathon in a coastal city like Porto this September would be something which they would have been delighted to watch us making happen.
We have experienced first-hand the devastating effects that dementia can have on individuals; from communicating with others, to affecting their daily life and ultimately their health. This challenge is thus an opportunity for us to raise funds for a charity that fights against this debilitating condition.
Alzheimer Research's UK is the leading research charity aiming to defeat dementia by powering world-class studies that focus on both prevention, treatment and cure. Any contribution you make helps funding a unique Research Network of over 1,000 dementia researchers across 15 centres in the UK.
Please help us support research that will change the future of dementia victims, while celebrating the memory of our grandmothers!
Pictures below, in case you need more inspiration to support the cause :)
Thank you very much in advance,
Maria and Bilal.
