Story
Ok, here is goes my first 'Maria' post (most of you who know me will be surprised I have got this far filling in the just giving page ;)
Its official, signed up to the exciting Southampton Marathon! 23rd of April , followed closely by the beautiful Just Walk 60k too 13th May. So very excited/scared but ever hopeful & optimistic of the path that will lead from post Christmas missing chocolate feeling , to that glass of celebration bubbly at the end with cuddles from Demir, Sophia and Alex, and wishes from family and friends !
Its all in support of a truly amazing charity called First Days to raise funds to help us to support local families in need. The 4 million steps incentive represent '4 million' children living in poverty in the UK. The awareness, and support that First Days hopes for to help families in need to have basic items for their children was so inspiring to me, I popped in to visit one morning last year and never left.
Not to detract from this amazing reason, on a personal note turning just a little bit 40 in between both events too. My drive to start and finish each practice and the big days themselves is to make my wonderful Dad proud who we have missed so much every day since last February, and will be in my heart every step x.
