Margaret Lowes was a member of Stockton Cancer Research Committee supporting the work done in Newcastle for many years. Her legendary baking raised many funds and she helped organise the Committee visits to the University and visits of the University staff to Stockton.
The Newcastle University Cancer Fund supports early career researchers to undertake ground-breaking research into cancer.
By supporting the Newcastle University Cancer Fund, that has absorbed the Future Fund, you will enable research into the causes, cures and treatments for some of the most challenging cancers. £250,000 - Purchase a major piece of equipment (e.g. a DNA sequencer or mass spectrometer)
£150,000 - Fund a four year PhD studentship in full£50,000 - Recruit a researcher or fellow for 1 year
£5,000 - Purchase a small piece of equipment
£1,600 - Fund a two month summer internship (e.g. for an undergraduate student)
£500 - Sequence one genome
£200 - A pipette
£50 - Used towards highest priority needs
