Story

The Annual Be the Change Campaign ensures that everyone has equal access to the resources and tools they need to thrive. In the Greater Houston area, YMCA wellness facilities, an overnight camp and hundreds of program sites strive to empower youth, build healthier families and foster inclusive communities. These programs are driven by our mission of serving Houston as a cause-driven organization for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. By giving a donation to this campaign, you join a group of people dedicated to the success and well-being of our community.

As 2023-2024 chair of the Katy YMCAs Advisory Board, I am pleased each day to witness the impact of the YMCA in Katy and neighboring suburbs of west Houston.  In addition to offering wellness programs for people of all ages and abilities at our facilities, we support before and after school enrichment programs in more than 40 Katy Area elementary schools, spring and summer camps for youth and teens, and Safety Around Water accident prevention and life-saving classes for children, teens and adults throughout west Houston.  In addition, we have new Y on the Fly mobile units that are beginning to deliver science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and sports and fitness programs to neighborhood centers and schools throughout our three-county Katy area.

Please join us in making an impact. This campaign is about more than just raising money. It is about the life-changing impact that the YMCA provides by opening doors of opportunity and good health to those in need. The stories of those who are impacted by the Y have the power to unite and inspire.
