Carers UK is a wonderful charity helping people across the UK feel valued and supported as they look after family members & loved ones.  We want to make sure that the care they provide isn't taken for granted by battling for greater understanding and support in our society, being there for carers with information and advice, right from the start and by building a network of carer positive employers.  It is a charity close to our hearts as my dad, a big proud northern man struggled with Alzheimer’s for the last few years of his life.  Not only was it hard for him to deal with but for all of his close family. He was lucky that he had people around him who knew where to get help and support; others unfortunately are less lucky and therefore we want to run to give back to those who helped us when we needed it most.
