I, like I'm sure a great number of you, have been affected by a relative suffering from Alzheimer's Disease or Dementia, and understand the heartache which arises from watching a loved one struggle with the frustration and upset caused by the condition, and their inability to comprehend what is happening to them.

Or the further upset of friends and family members in tears when their parents or relatives don't recognise them.

Alzheimer Scotland represents these sufferers and their carers and aims to bring a better quality of life to them all.

They campaign for improved services and funding to assist family, friends and carers to spend quality time with each other and to reduce some of the worries and fears associated with the condition.

I have therefore decided to aim at achieving one of my personal life-goals by completing a Marathon and raising much needed funds for the Charity and so I would ask you all to please give generously to this worthy cause.
