Deloitte Ride Across Britain 2011 · 19 June 2011 ·

We prepare the ParalympicsGB team to help their success inspire the nation

Story

Hi everyone,

On the 11th June a few work colleagues and I will be cycling the Deloitte Ride Across Britain (RAB) from John O'Groats to Lands End. This is an epic journey will take us 9 days and will involve 1,000 miles of agony. It will effectively mean we are sat in the saddle for 6-7 hours a day to raise money for the official charity Paralympics GB 2012.

To give you an idea of the enormity of the challenge, it's the equivalent of cycling the London - Brighton route and back again for 9 consecutive days.

Training for this currently involves 1-2 hour rides every day with 3-4 hour rides on a Sat and Sun. This will gradually increase over the coming months averaging approximately 100 miles every other day.

To participate in the Deloitte RAB an entry fee of £1,500 was required which has been paid for by Commensus Plc and ALL the money raised will go directly to the charity.

Paralympics GB is a great charity raising money to prepare these tremendous athletes for London 2012, hence you will be able to see the direct results from your kind generosity via this page.

Thank you for all your support.
