Shhhhhhhhhh this page is a secret!!
By popular demand the target has risen...come on people!!! and a massive thank you to you all!!!!!!!!
My mom has sadly been diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time during her 60 active years. After battling and overcoming breast cancer three times she has now been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Due to the size of the cancer surgeons have been unable to remove the whole of it and after a speedy recovery from a hysterectomy she will unfrotunately have to have chemotherapy and a further operation. This means she will be loosing her hair...again. As family of a person battling cancer you feel very helpless and vain attempts to take some control on the situation tend to fail. I have therefore decided the one thing I can do for my brave mom during this awful period is to join her in having a shaven head!
As most of you may well know, I have never shaved my precious hair, not just for the inevitable "will it grow back?" and will I look like a burk but because I see it as my Samson strength. Once it is gone will I be able to play football? Will I still be clever? Will I be funny? Will Esther still fancy me? Is my head the shape of a peanut? All these questions will be answered post-shave!
This is being kept a secret from my mom so I can turn up at her house with an already shaved head to show my support and commitment to her and see the surprise on her face that her dashingly good looking son has gone and shaved his perfectly styled and groomed hair simply so she isn't bald alone. I hope to tell her how I have raised a tonne of money in support of Cancer Research UK so please donate gerneously, it is a very good cause.
