Story
On Saturday 17th November 2012, at 3.15pm, I will take off from the start line of the 10km Mens Health Survival of the Fittest race in Battersea. It has been a while since I was in a race... we need to go all the way back to cross-country at Marymount high school. Well, I would like to re-live those incredible feelings and emotions felt at the time.
I am running for a good cause: I’m fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
My objectives are to become a Survivor, finish in the first 30% or under 55 mins and, most importantly, raise at least £100 for Cancer Research UK, which funds my dear flatmate's Chris precious research.
“Every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound, every hour, every person. And as a collective force we’ve helped double survival rates in the last forty years. But we can’t stop there. More than 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer at some point in our lives and with our ageing population, this statistic is getting worse.” (CRUK)
Please help motivate me and support this great cause by donating generously. Any amount will make a difference. Thank you.
Marco
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to saving lives through cancer research. Their work, funded entirely by the public. Both Cancer Research UK and Survival of the Fittest (Rat Race) share a spirit of challenging what is thought to be impossible. But we believe that, by working together, and with the support of our adventurous participants, we will beat cancer.
