Story
I am boxing for a charity called Brighter Futures. Well, I wouldn’t call it a charity, more a family that looks after families by building them back up and by supporting them, much like myself. I can honestly say I would not be here today if it wasn’t for Brighter Futures and a lady called Fiona.
To discuss poverty, homelessness and depression, you know all the things that seem to be taboo subjects in Jersey. Yet, no matter how strong you are, like I thought I was, there may be a time or a crossroads where you believe life isn’t worth living and even the love for your children isn’t sufficient to keep your focus, yet Brighter Futures was there for me!
This charity is so close to my heart as it reminded me I am a worthy person and deserve the best.
So now you see why no matter what, I will do anything I can to support Brighter Futures, and this is why I am putting my beautiful exotic looks at risk to raise money for this worthwhile cause. Of course, it’s a very, very high price to pay, but I obviously would still have my sense of humour ….
Brighter Futures is a local charity supporting parents, families and young people in Jersey. Working alongside the main carer, our educational model provides them with the tools to cope.
Supporting approximately 170 families at any one time, we focus on 3 key areas;
- Parent-child relationships programmes
- Second-chance learning programmes
- Mental health and wellbeing programmes
Together, we are creating brighter futures for families in Jersey.
