Thank you for visiting my page. Any donation made will make a big difference and is really appreciated.
Last year I took part in this challenge as part of my own recovery from a heart attack. Walking and exercise have massively helped with both my physical and mental wellbeing.
Being part of March the Month in September last year was a truly humbling experience as through the PCUK Facebook page, I got to share the experience with men suffering from Prostate cancer, family members who had lost grandfathers, dads, uncles and brothers.
My employers, Keyline Civils Specialist have supported PCUK for the last 10 years and I am constantly in awe of the work they do in raising awareness and helping those diagnosed.
Last year, I managed just short of 440,000 steps (14,660 average per day) and I am challenging myself to break 500,000 this year.
Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK and each year more than 11,000 men die from the disease. Given the statistics, I'm scrapping the 10,000 step challenge and instead walking 11,000 steps a day throughout the month of September. The impact of the coronavirus crisis means that life-saving research is at risk. Men have never needed your support more to protect research into better tests and treatments to stop prostate cancer being a killer.
