Story
With the impact of Covid 19, it's now costing around £5.1 million a year to run Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. With all their events cancelled in 2020 as well as so many of their community fundraising initiatives and the prolonged closure of 450 high street shops, your support means the world and will help them provide much needed palliative end of life care to our community. To put it into perspective its cost £21 for an hour of care, with a nurse for a day costing £145.
Leckhampton Court Hospice is the only in-patient unit in Gloucestershire providing specialist palliative care. The Hospice now costs over £10,000 a day to run, so every penny really will make a difference. They want to continue using their skills, expertise and experience to help help in the months and years ahead to support those needing end of life care.
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
That's why our nurses, doctors and all the staff at Cleevelands Medical Centre want to do our bit to raise funds so they can keep doing the amazing work they do.
For the month of March we're aiming to travel 'virtually' from John O' Groats to Land's End ( and possibly beyond!) by walking, running or cycling.
Having completed the first challenge we are now heading into Europe, Calais to Monte Carlo!
