Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Just under a year ago Simon, my father in law and good friend got diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Sadly on the 10th of May Simon lost his battle and passed away. A day that was devastating for all thatwho new him.
For many years Simon and his family would spend time at Hayling Island sailing and having fun so it felt fitting that I start my challenge from there.
Just over 9 months ago I started training to take part in my first full distance Ironman that was due to take place in Bolton on the 11th of July. Due to the Coronavirus this was cancelled. It seemed a waste to just give up, so instead I have decided to do my own personal challenge /Ironman in Simons memory and try to raise some money to help fight Cancer along the way.
Towards the end of July (I'm hoping the 25th weather dependent) I will start off with a 1 mile swim in the sea at Hayling, shorter than a normal Ironman but I haven't been able to swim train so I decided to air on the side of caution. My friend Ian and I will then cycle back to Epwell around 112 miles ish. Once arriving home I will run a marathon getting drag along by another friend Dean.
Any donations would be greatly received and will go along way to help push me to the end of this Tri for Simon.
Thank you to all that donate.
