Story
As many of you may know, after putting up a good fight, my Dad sadly passed away from Pancreatic cancer in March 2021. Dad (aka Mike, Mick, Peter Pan) was well-loved and is missed greatly.
He loved to play golf and walk in the hills, but the one thing he did since he was a young man was to run. He was a member of the local running club and made many friends there over the years. In 1982 he ran the second ever London Marathon and continued to run it many times after (along with hundreds of other marathons and races around the world). It's a race that he was always very proud to have been a part of.
Severn Hospice helped my Dad and our family when we needed them and I am in awe of the incredible care and support they give. It is even more incredible that they are able to provide this care funded solely via donations. Theirs is a service that helped us when we needed them so I now want to help them in anyway I can.
My Dad would have been very proud of me for running London Marathon, so thats what I'm going to do!
I would be eternally grateful if you are able to donate towards this wonderful cause and in return I promise to keep training, no matter the weather and do everything in my power to make it to the finish line!
In addition to the marathon, I will be doing some other events to raise as much as possible, watch this space for more information :)
Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you.For every £1 you donate, they will spend 83p directly on care - and use the remaining 17p to make another £1.Last year, all those individual donations helped provide more than £9m of caring services.Thank you - you're amazing!
