Story
Starting on the 5th of March through to the 7th, myself and a few other like minded individuals have committed to run the gruelling - 4 x 4 x 48.
At 16:00 on the 5th March, we will embark on the challenge that is 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours. Yes, that’s right, we will be running/walking through the night as well as the day come rain or shine. I hope to still be running but maybe walking for my last run on Sunday the 7th March, which will commence at 12:00.
I have decided to take on this challenge as I know it challenge me both mentally and physically, but most importantly to help raise money for the true inspiration that is my little nephew, Theo. Any money raised will go towards him and help to pay for pioneering stem cell treatment in Panama.
I know this challenge is not going to be easy, but I know that what I will be potentially experiencing in that moment of time, is only a small fraction of the physical and mental battles Theo experiences in his day to day life and since he was born. When I may start to struggle, get tired or think it is too difficult, I will remind myself of what an amazing child and a true inspiration to many he is. Thinking about that cheeky smile that will greet me at the finish line, will help when I might be doubting myself or looking at the alarm clock at 2 in the morning thinking I don’t want to get up.
Throughout this challenge I will have Sarah (my wife) supporting me all the way, though it may turn out to be more of an endurance test for her. Not only her, but others have signed up to join me on some of the runs to keep me going.
So please help support getting Theo more pioneering stem cell treatment to hopefully give him more of the life he deserves. Any donations however big or small would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Marc
