Story
Following the sudden and unexpected passing of my Dad in 2013, we struggled as a family to come to terms with the reality of life without the person who meant so much to us all.
My Mum decided that last year she would undertake the London to Brighton bike ride and she did an amazing job, raising money for BHF and she inspired us all to get involved this year.
So having not ridden a bike since my paper round in the early eighties, I took up the challenge and started training in January.
It's fair to say the training started slowly, the first three mile ride on a gym exercise bike took nearly fifteen minutes and definitely required a long sit down afterwards. My heart told me Bradley Wiggins, reality was more Donkey Kong on a mini GP bike alla Mario Kart.
But I've persevered, and having today completed a ten mile non stop ride in less than forty minutes, its time to commit properly and start requesting generosity from anyone who feels this would be a worthwhile cause.
In return for your donations, I promise to see this through, to embrace the Pink Flamingo theme my Mum and Sisters have requested for this year, and provide regular updates on my training and progress.
Should I hit my target, Lycra will not feature in any photos, beware if I do not, its definitely not a pleasant image!
