For one hundred hours, RaW 1251am, the student radio station for the University of Warwick will be broadcasting its content from outside of the conventional student union walls. To raise money for the Coventry Cyrenians; the members of RaW1251am will be presenting their shows all day and all night outside in the piazza – an iconic part of the University of Warwick.
From 12pm, Monday 4 February to 4pm, Friday 8 February, RaW’s DJs will be broadcasting their shows from outside, bringing an array of great music to the piazza alongside a cheery atmosphere, despite the chilly nature of February. As well as airing the planned weekly timetable, extra content will be broadcast during the night, from 11pm to 8am. For the entire one hundred hours the members of RaW will be outside, come rain or shine, even if the snow tries to hamper it.
Through the medium of the MaRaWthon Broadcast, RaW will be attempting to raise £1000 for the local charity Coventry Cyrenians. Coventry Cyrenians provide a range of services for homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged people within the Coventry area. It aims to increase empowerment and independence, whilst also rebuilding the lives of those who are homeless and disadvantaged. We urge you to show your support for this amazing cause!
RaW provides an opportunity for students at the University of Warwick to attempt the world of radio, inspiring many to love the medium. The MaRaWthon Outside Broadcast will be an exceptional display of the radio talent at Warwick, no matter the location, whilst also raising awareness and money for a significant charity within the Coventry area.
