Story
I’m Luke Willett, known as The Iron Golfer!
Please support me as I complete my ‘Marathons of Golf’ epic challenge this Sunday (July 3) at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, helping to raise funds for the Golf Foundation, a fantastic charity for young people.
This is my 14th and final Marathon of Golf this year, built around playing Speedgolf at every Open Championship venue there is. From Portrush to Prince’s, St Andrews to St George’s, I’ve ran every town to celebrate the joy of golf.
Racing along these historic links in 40 minutes-plus, recording exciting scores for the rounds played, before then setting off to run up to a marathon distance around the UK towns which have been made famous by the Open Championship; this has been a wonderful journey of golf and the people around golf. A real privilege.
This Sunday (July 3) I celebrate it all by playing my final Marathon of Golf at Royal Liverpool GC; I can’t wait to meet the brilliant members there after this adventure which has been full of blood, sweat and tears, but lots of laughs and smiles too along the way.
You too can celebrate my progress, all through my page on Instagram where you can watch videos of all my golf marathons (@lukewillettgolf) – AND through my Royal Liverpool event I am busy raising funds for national charity the Golf Foundation.
This is a brilliant charity for young people, helping children from all backgrounds to enjoy playing golf, creating our golfers of the future, and enhancing the lives of many youngsters in the process. See www.golf-foundation.org for more on their work and consider a donation.
If you are intrigued by my Marathons of Golf and, like me, you love to bring some joy along to this great game, support the Golf Foundation today. Any size of donation is superb!
