I am an 18 year old with an ambitious dream. At the start of my senior year of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, I decided to challenge myself to complete an Ironman Triathlon the summer before I go to college. Since November, I have been waking up at 4:30 to go swimming at the YMCA only to have track practice after school, and cycling on the weekends. Much to the dismay of my parents, I wanted to complete the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 run in the allowed 17 hours. While I have been able to maintain a training program at home during quarantine, my hopes of running the New Jersey Marathon were dashed because the event has been cancelled. Not giving up, I have turned this into an opportunity to make a difference in my community. I have pledged myself to run the marathon virtually and live stream my effort, all with the hope of raising money for Jersey Shore Medical Center.I have been inspired by the dedication and courage of our healthcare workers. It is my sincere hope that anyone who reads this will take the time to donate, any amount is very much appreciated.
