Story
Hi, I'll be running the Loch Ness Marathon on 1st Oct 2023 in support of Cancer Research UK. My wee boy Robin was diagnosied with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on 18th August 2020 a month before he turned 4. Our family is nearing three years into treatment with around 5 months to go. We've had several battles to fight as a family and it's been an extremely difficult time for each of us. I'm well aware we are not alone and cancer does not discriminate. Each person and familys journey is different. I'm hopeful in the not to distant future preventative solutions can be found and in the meantime more targeted treatments can be developed.
I'm not particularly sporty (a leisure jogger at best) so completing a marathon will be a challenge for me! I don't want to just complete it, but run a decent time 3.5-4hrs. I'll be putting some effort into increasing my fitness and running duration over the next few months.
