Story
On Friday 24th April I'll be attempting 'Marathon On My Street', a 26.2 mile run in aid of Marie Curie.
Are you crazy? Yes...The run equates to 300 laps of the driveway outside my home in Islington, London, and it's going to be 22 degrees warm.
Surely you've trained? No... But, Marie Curie, a charity close to my heart, are in desperate need of funding. They need to raise £2.5m per week, just so nurses and staff can continue to provide their vital services during the pandemic.
Inspired by Captain Tom Moore, i thought "what can i do?" So i measured the distance from the top to the bottom of my road, which is 0.14km. After some quick maths i realised 300 laps would be the length of a marathon...
I've done zero training but have ran in the past for my mum Pauline and aunty Eileen, two fantastic women who died of ovarian cancer in 2008 and 2005. They'll spur me on.
This is part of 'The 2.6 Challenge', a campaign to support struggling charities at this difficult time. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference.
Love
