I've supported Shelter for a while now, and I've also been running for a while. This will be my first marathon, and a great opportunity to support a charity I believe in, and it's my employer's charity of the year. 

It is just not acceptable, in this day and age, that so many people are homeless. It is just not acceptable that so many face rents so high that the slightest additional expenses can push them into a spiral of ever-deepening debt. It is just not acceptable that years of government neglect have resulted in house prices far beyond the reach of new buyers, a shortage of social and council housing, and ever-increasing pressure on the charities that try to bridge the gap. Shelter is involved with all of these things - please consider supporting them.
