Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. There are seven of us: Darragh McMenamin, Davin Doherty, Iarla McGowan, Kieran Kelly, Martin Fox, Michael McCole and Paul McMonagle and we are doing the Dublin Marathon this coming October 25th - to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation, in memory of our good friend Donal McBride, who sadly passed in March last year.

Meningitis and septicaemia – the blood poisoning form of the disease – can kill in hours.  Although relatively uncommon, these diseases affect hundreds of lives every year in Ireland and the United Kingdom and leave many more permanently disabled.  These diseases can affect anyone at any age, but babies, children and young adults are most at risk.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you!!

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
