Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is the first triathlon I am taking part in this year and I would like to raise money for a cause that is very close to my heart. The Oldies Club is a dog rescue charity run exclusively by volunteers that specialises in rehoming of old dogs. Not only that, they take care of these dogs which being old are often handed in in a poorly state. Depending on the severity of their health condition they support the new owners and pay for medications and vet bills for the whole dogs' life. Sadly their bills last month were so high that they had to temporarily stop taking dogs in foster homes. They're up and running again but they need help!

I want to do this in memory of my dog Cico, who died last year at the grand age of 19 and 1/2. Little did we know when he came home for the first time in the shape of a fur ball that he would have stayed with us for almost 20 years. This is just to say that older dogs (7+) are not really that old, they deserve so much happiness and have still lots to give.

As most of you know I am no athlete. I enjoy swimming, cycling and running but I am not particularly good at any of them. This is actually my second attempt at the Monster Sprint:

Last year I finished with a timing of 01:25:51. This was my first triathlon ever and I loved it. So this year I am going to make any effort to beat this time, in memory of my sporty dog Cico and for all the wonderful work that this charity is doing.

L'anno scorso ho finito  in 01:25:51.
