Story
I grew up in a family that was committed to education. Today, I donate a percentage of my earnings to charity because I believe a society is only strong when everyone has equal access.
I've kicked off my campaign with a $5,000 donation. Please join me with your support and I’ll match it up to a total of $100,000!
As the chair of the Science World Fundraising Committee, I work with a team of industry experts and leaders who are supporting two major initiatives:
- Scaling Science World’s program digitization to reach more than 3 million learners this year – especially those in rural, remote, and Indigenous communities, as well as women and girls.
- Building immersive experiences and vital capital projects that continue to connect people in BC to science and nature.
I believe both these expansions are critical for meeting the biggest challenges our world faces, and for the future of our economy.
The more skills we give our kids in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & design, and math), the better jobs they’ll have in BC. There will be a precipitous and tangential line from Science World to the jobs we can create. Why wouldn’t we invest in Science World?
Here are two more things I think you should know: the first, that Science World is an incredibly fiscally responsible charity, with less than 2% of its funding coming from government. The second, that the new and expanding digital outreach is for people at every income level.
That’s why I give. Because it’s for everyone’s future. We’re at an inflection point of where we’re going with Science World – and it’s going to be amazing.
